having just made a transistion from xbox to windows for my xbmc, can anyone recommend any remotes that work successfully with xbmc, since the pc is now in the front room, it needs to work proper, info for example.

Buy a pukka Microsoft Media Center from ebay then look at the MCE Stuff in http://www.ratsauce.plus.com/xbmc.htm for how to configure it. There seem to be lots of Microsoft remotes on ebay at the moment. Expect to pay about £20.

Cheap clone remotes can be made to work but can be surprising amounts of heartache.

I picked up an HP Media Centre remote off eBay for less than a tenner and used a program called IR Remote Server Suite to configure all the buttons to work with XBMC perfectly.

Now, I can press one button to change my display from my PC Monitor to my LCD TV, press another button to start XBMC, Etc.
