i have been looking into mediamonkey but im not sure after reading the wiki what i am using it for, for example i have a lot of music a lot have been riped over the years from my cd so most just say track 1 ect with no genre or artist. the only information i have is the folder title. now if i use media monkey to tag every folder will is rename and tag each folder or music with genre year artist ect and then xbmc will be able to sort my music? and will i need to keep mediamonkey or once i have taged the music i have use it for any program ie itunes aswell as xbmc? i know this question may have been asked before i have tried searching any tips you can give me would be great still a bit of a noobEek

Once you tag your music, the tags are stored in the audio files, so no you do not need to "keep" it afterwards.
There is no need to rename any files or folders unless you want to.
Itunes will read tags made by mediamonkey, so yes it will help there also.
