Running in Portable Mode
#1
So I installed using portable mode that way all my files will be in program files\XBMC rather then roaming etc...

When ever I set it to run as admin so that I can use it in portable mode, my remote doesn't function at all. Any idea why?

Also, is there some setting in windows that I can change so that I dont have to click "allow" every time I launch XBMC? It only does that when running as an admin.

Im using Windows 7.
XBMC Camelot.
iMon remote with soundgraph software.

thanks Smile

try running your remote software as admin, then xbmc as admin and see if it works

also, the main reason you have to run elevated for portable is that the program files folder is only writable by admin.

if you move your xbmc folder to a non-administrator (ie all users) folder, then you should not have to run elevated to get portable.

ah thanks! that worked. it is a PITA that I have to lick ok every time I want to run XBMC from admin. Maybe I will try to put it on a thumb drive
