I am considering to get an acer revo 3610, with 2gb RAM. Was wondering if 2gb RAM big enough to decode 1080p with hardware acceleration, through VPADU or DirectX?

Yes, it should be. The big question will be if you can get enough ram allocated to the video card. If you can get 512 MB to the video card (which should be possible with 2GB), then 2GB would be enough.

2GB is enough, have that in the ASRock and it works splendid 512 allocated to GPU.
