I got XBMC running on karmic Ubuntu along with the DVD kit remote and sensor. I struggled a long time with the remote issue and things are now as clear as mud on how LIRC operates as I saw so much conflicting info.
What I want to do is to get my directv remote working in AV2 mode. I saw another post that said that code 01392 does a decent job of emulating the MCE remote.
My question is, how exactly does a 2nd remote get added? And how to keep the 1st. I saw some posts about how you just add some info into some .conf files, others showed you had to run a second process of LIRC.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
