"adjust display refresh rate to match video"
davilla Wrote:depends if you have it set to stay alive or not.

I haven't changed any settings related to XBMCHelper. Is the default for it to stay alive? Where are these settings?

OK, I'll remember to disable that in the future before performing upgrades. Otherwise I'll just kill the process. I can live with that.

Did that last debug help you any?

Good news to report. So far in testing, I have yet to see it go to 4 frames per second no matter how many times and ways I start the video. It locks in to DTS after a few seconds of handshaking and the audio plays fine as well.

The only issue I still see is if you exit out of a movie early (any movie basically) and use the remote to scroll up and down, the skin audio starts coming out of the internal speaker on the Mac. When you load up a movie, it plays out of the Onkyo just fine. Return back to the skin, and audio plays out of the internal speaker still.

I'd like to see if 'Activate' can also test this version to see if it resolves his 4 fps issues on his Onkyo.

Do you want another xbmc.log to see if you can narrow down the skin audio problem? I believe others reported this too in this thread.

Thanks for all the hard work, davilla. It is much appreciated.

Using http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14341410/XBMC-5574a8446.zip and running no other primary hdmi utilising apps.

1. After watching a movie >20 seconds approximately, the skin sound defaults to internal speakers. Watching a movie <20 the skin sound stays with the onkyo. This is consistent with what was happening with the beta 1. Playing a movie again returns the sound to the onkyo also as with beta.

2. Re 4fps/no audio: I only the chance to do play one internet stream straight after watching a movie. It played normally. I'll use xbmc normally later and confirm it.

Pls let me know if you require the log.

OK, this means we're seeing similar results. Let me know after further testing.

Right now, I'd like to focus on the video playback issues. gui sound issues while annoying is not a killer.

I'm not sure we can fix gui sound issues, those are done by SDL and we have little control over it with respect to audio devices and such.

I understand and thank you. I'll continue testing over the next few days and report back my results in a final reply on this issue. So far, so good. Smile

Hi all,

For some time I can no longer use the resolution change automatically without a kernel panic!
adjust display refresh rate to match video enabled = kernel panic
adjust display refresh rate to match video --> off = OK

I put the report here.
http://pastebin.com/PAnppwLU

Strange as it happens suddenly. I've never had a Kernel Panic since using Eden.
Nothing has changed on my mac!
I have no problems with other software (VLC Itunes ...)

I am available for further testing if needs

Thank you
