You don't paste it into a terminal, you paste the text in to a text file called ".asoundrc" located in your home folder. The path to this file is ~/.asoundrc (~ is a shortcut to your home folder). The dot in front of the file is important, since it makes it a hidden file.

This file should already exist, so make a back up first.

thanks thats sorted now and everything was fine, until last night and now on movies i can hear the background audio however i cannot hear or the speech is very muffled any ideas?
i have removed pulseaudio as decribed in here http://glonek.co.uk/linux-mint/howto-rem...rmic-9-10/

however im stuck on this bit....
So, here you go, download the script, unzip it to /use/local/bin (you will need to become root or sudo).
i have the script in my downloads but have no idea to add that file to /use/local/bin
and i can only find the file /usr/local/bin i assume this is the same file?
please help
