This is my first post and can't find the answer by searching the forum. I am running xbmc 9.11 RC1 on ubuntu 9.10. I get "square square" whenever I browse the filename with big5(utf8?) character under view:list. All these files can be displayed in the gnome desktop. Change the settings under appearance -> international but no luck. Any comments are welcome.

You need to install a unicode font and switch to that. We'd welcome work on integrating chinese characters into the default font.

Thanks for the advice and it has been fixed. Just download the font from http://code.google.com/p/xbox-remote/wik...torForXBMC. Save this font as "/usr/share/xbmc/media/Fonts/arial.ttf" and change the fonts to Arial as follows: "system -> appearance -> skin -> fonts".
