Slow GUI; XBMC Camelot + Ubuntu Karmic
#1
Hi,

Annoying slowness issues in the interface - fullscreen only.

I originally had this issue when I first setup XBMC for my dad on Ubuntu 9.04, I found a post to fix the issue. It was a simple fix, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is!!! I've upgraded Ubuntu to 9.10, uninstalled XBMC from Synaptic. Then reinstalled it via the terminal using the instructions on the Wiki. Now I have the issue again.

The problem is a slow GUI. It only seems to update once every 5 seconds. It works fine windowed.

If I start a video in windowed mode all plays fine. If I then swith to fullscreen the sound continues correctly, the video just updates once every 5 or so seconds. Going back to windowed moded causes the video to speed up and catch up with the audio.

I've tried all the V Sync settings in System->SettingsVertical blank sync without luck.

OS - Ubuntu 9.10 Linux 2.6.31-16-generic
XBMC revision - 9.11 26018
AMD 3700+, 1GB RAM, 6600GT
OpenGL version 2.1.2 NVIDIA 185.18.36
Philips 40" TV 1080p.

When windowed XBMC reports the resolution as 720x480 60Hz 18% CPU usage. Fullscreen it reports 1080x 50Hz 100% CPU usage. Not sure its to do with the 60/50Hz rate??

Let us know if any further info would help. I'm certain this is a minor setting.

Any tips appreciated. Smile

EDIT: I took them logs after recreating the issue...
