The principle of this is perfectly fine, but I'd suggest the support of Exif comments would be a better option.
There's a thread somewhere on the site with a huge support for Exif support in the photos... so I think it would be better to lend you support to this instead.
I trust you know what Exif is... but if not, it's a standard for the embedded 'tagging' of photos with tonnes of camera and photo information (more than a match for an Nfo).

Hi AnalogKid, thanks for the answer.
I agree with you that each photo should have Exif information with it.
But I want more
:
* Each folder have a "fanart" ( could be a symbolic link to one of the photos)
* Have a Description to the folder like: "Zoo visit" , something like that.( instead of "2009-10-01-Zoo_visit" in my case)
