Hi, is there a chance to run a script in the background while showing e.g. a progress bar or notification like "Running" somewhere?

I'm currently writing a DVDRip Script and it takes at least 30 Minutes to rip so I would like to show the progress somewhere without interrupting the whole xbmc use.

Didn't find anything so maybe someone here has an idea.
