Hello!
I'd like to store mkv files on a old xbox and then run xbmc as DLNA server.
My question is about the possibility to store big mkv files (even 20gb) on the xbox.
Is now possibile or I can only store files up to 4gb?
thanks!

The Xbox uses the FATX file system, which has a maximum file size of 4GB. There really is no way around this except to run a different OS and use a different file system. That, in turn, isn't easy to do since the Xbox only has 64MB of RAM and you really need a hardware mod chip to run Linux without a lot of annoying work.

You're not going to get too many 20GB files on an XBox. Wouldn't it be better to buy a cheap NAS box?

thanks for the help!
I have indeed modded the xbox...so I could install linux...
can I run xbmc from linux to use it as dlna server?
that's the point...formatting the hd as linux partition (ext3) and have xbmc reading that partition....
is it possible?
