Karaoke support in XBMC?

Question
How much use is this getting? I have a friend with 150 karaoke disks that when he saw xbmc on my setup was very interested in how it worked.
It looks like depending on the format he could rip them direct and then just use them?

If he can't rip the lyrics from his disks is there some place ya'll use to get lyrics? From the wiki it looks like lcr is the most viewable format for lyrics.

thanks

I've used it in a "live" environment, it's very good.

Re. those 150 discs, assumedly they're CD+G format, which rip nicely into MP3+G (or MP3/CDG) format, which play just as well through XBMC as any karaoke player (unfortunately with the same blocky-edge characteristic that haunts CD+G).

LRC are supposed to play well but you only seem to find those on eastern websites and have dubious legality. At least your friends 150 karaoke discs are legit.

IN the live environment how did you handle the mic? I assume you mixed it in at the amp/processor level? I'm wondering if that will work on his receiver... or mine for that matter.
