Hey there good fellas!

I have never had any problem during all the years of using XBMC. But from day one when we are streaming stuff from my girlfriends pc it breaks the connection from time to time. Sometimes it's very frequently and it's very anoying when you are watching a movie and it gets shut off 5-10 times in 5 minutes. (it went stupid pc on me again as im writing this)

So... my question to come is... is it Windows Vista who's the bad guy here? and if so, is there any settings I should change? otherwise her laptop is a Sony Vaio but im guessing the hardware in the matter gots nothing to do with it...

vista works fine. i run vista on both my xbmc htpc and my streaming server.

please check your power settings on the laptop.

By power settings I guess you mean for how long it will stay awake before going to standby and all that. nothing wrong there. it doesnt even need to go standby on the screen and it still goes crazy. plz correct me if I missundaztood what you ment by power settings.
