Hi!

I need for podcasting http://www.landeck.tv on my XBOX a Codec.

The Video is working fine ond XBMC but I can't hear anything, there is no audio.

GSpot tell me following things about the videos:

File Type: ASF (.WMA/.WMV)
Mime Type: video/x-ms-asf
File Length Correct
Sys Bitrate: 307 kb/s

Aud:Voxware MetaSound
Aud:AC16V1 16.0 kbps, 16 KHz, Mono
Vid:Microsoft MPEG-4 VKI Codec V2

so this voxware codec is also on the site and i've tryed to put it in the Codecs folder of mplayer but this isn't working.

thanks for your help mogger

Check first and foremost that mplayer supports said codec by trying to play the stream using mplayer for windows.

hi

we have tried it with windows media player, at first it was the same (Video without sound), then we installed this driver/codec

http://www.landeck.tv/vox/vox.zip

and it works fine!

Is there a driver for the XBMC too?:confused2:

Hi!

I tested it with the mplayer for Win but there is no audio to hear. I tryed to put the normaly needed codec to the folder /codecs. I tryed to put all Codecs from the mplayer team to the folder /codecs but no I heard nothing.

This is the failure notice from the DOS Window Box on mplayer for win:

Warning: DS-Filter() could not connect to output pin. (DLL=voxmsdec.ax, r=0x8004020e)
ERROR: Could not open required DirectShow codec voxmsdec.ax.
ADecoder preinit failed Sad
ADecoder init failed :-(
Cannot find Codec for audio format 0x75.
Audio: no sound

This is the output notice from a Linux system (a firend tested it):

Opening video decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg's libavcodec codec family
Selected video codec: [ffmp42] vfm: ffmpeg (FFmpeg M$ MPEG-4 v2)
Opening audio decoder: [dshow] Win32/DirectShow decoders
AUDIO: 16000 Hz, 1 ch, s16le, 16.0 kbit/6.25% (ratio: 2000->32000)
Selected audio codec: [voxware] afm: dshow (VoxWare)

these Videos are from our local TV on http://www.landeck.tv, my friend made a extern rss for it http://landeck.tv.dr.ag/ to stream it over the xbox and the codec for winusers to install is here http://www.landeck.tv/vox/vox.zip.

thx for help mogger

I think that means the codec is not supported by FFmpeg but is supported via a DirectShow DLL, so you need to put a copy of the voxmsdec.ax file inside \XBMC\system\players\mplayer\codecs\, ...then question is if XBMC actually supports loading the DLL file, only way to know is for you to try.

I think you should be able to get the file form here => http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/
(download all-20061022.tar.bz2 and extract all the files from it to check it out)

So you say it does not even work in MPlayer for Linux or MPlayer for Windows?, if that is the case then I am afraid that the answer will have to be; please report this as a bug directly to MPlayer => http://bugzilla.mplayerhq.hu

Please be sure to follow their rules for reporting bugs, see => http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html

For more information why we refer you to MPlayer in cases like these see => http://xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.ph...t_requests

Hi!

If you read my requests you will see that there is no failure on a linux system so it works fine on that system. So i thaught that I not extra tell you that
