I was wondering what other users of XBMC were doing as far as getting 5.1 sound from there system. I'm currently running XBMC from my Mac Book Pro but as you might have guessed I'm only getting stereo from my Audio out (earphone socket) what do i have to buy to get the full audio experience. any thoughts ?

Mac book pro's 3.5mm adaptor can do 5.1 audio. You need a mini toslink adaptor / cable and then plug the other end into your amp's spdif socket.
