GL working better than DX on Win7 - are you seeing the same?

Issue...
massive difference I'm seeing in the GL vs DX builds

background...
just moved from Intel Core2Duo E8400 to AMD Athlon Neo X2 6850e. (Yes, I know that is a big difference in power, that was the point - smaller, quieter)

both systems use AMD 4300 series video card with HDMI out, 4 GB RAM, & the same SSD HDD - streaming 720p & standard DVD ISOs video over Gig LAN from the same server.

The E8400 never had any issue with any playback with DX or GL, of course.

tests with Athlon Neo X2 6850e:
DX - massive frame drops (40-50%), even streaming 480i ISO content
GL - very few, if any, frame drops

Plus CPU utilization at idle (Home menu) is lower by about 10% using GL vs DX?

This is opposite of what I was seeing before Camelot come out.

I have tested this on Rev26880.

Anyone else notice this?

if you are bulding yourself.. do make sure you are building release builds not debug builds. debug builds have a huge overhead.

Using Ikon's builds... I don't think they are debug builds?

I tried latest ikon's OpenGL build (Rev26880) and clearly the framerate is stable @ 60fps in the UI, while DirectX builds have a variable framerate there (from 30fps to 60fps).

However when it comes to playback, it was even more awful than DX as the stuttering was constant even on a 720p H264 vid (CPU @ 20%), no matter what i did in the setup.
Maybe it was due to dual screen setup and opengl is even worse than DX for that?
Dual screen setup - HDMI/TV (sound on Digital Audio toslink) - DVI/PC Monitor
AMD PII 955 (3.2GHz) - 4GB DDR3 - Geforce GT 240 - Win7 x64

icons build gl.
less frame drops.
