When I got to set content I cannot click the arrows that allow you to set content. any idea why this is not possible? I am on a university network, is it possible that it's not allowing xbmc to connect? at first i could "set content" but it would scan for like 5 seconds, say it was done, but then no artwork was downloaded. now I can only go to the set content screen but the up and down arrows a greyed out. I tired deleting and re-adding the sources. didn't fix anything. as of now I cannot even select a source

I'm on windows XP.

let me know if you need any additional information I know I may not have been thorough enough but am not quite sure what kind of data to give.

When removing sources, you need to 'clean the library' to ensure that all the old data is out.

First, switch to the default skin.
Second, remove your sources and clean your library.
Third, delete all of your xml and nfo files.
Fourth, see my signature for how to post a windows related problem.
Fifth, follow this guide and do not deviate.
