DSPlayer won't play split movie (CD1 - CD2)
#1
Good evening to the entire board, after several searches I could not solve my problem with "XBMC 9:11 REV 27236th and DSPlayer. My films divided into two files CD1 and CD2 do not play. Once you press the play button the movie starts from the second CD to end in less than a second. I installed DSPlayer instead of DVDPlayer because under "Windows7" does not work to stop working after a few moments. Using XBMC sull'ATV but also without any problem.

You could somehow help me?

Thanks, I attach the log.

Hi Guys, any idea about the problem I described? I just installed the latest release of DSPlayer Rev27275 but did not solve anything.

At the moment I can not use XBMC on Windows Seven X64. "DVDPlayer" hangs after a few seconds while "DSPlayer" can not play movies on the two files (CD1 - CD2). Did none of you have XBMC running on Windows Seven x64?

I am attaching the log with DVDPlayer:

end DSPlayer:

PS: my mediacenter configuration is

Mainboard Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4
Intel Core I5
4 GB Corsair Ram 1333
2 SSDNow Kingston 40GB in Raid 0
512MB nVidia GTS250
Creative X-Fi Titanum
MCE Remote

Thank you and sorry for my "Gogle English"Smile

As an easy workaround, download AviMux and use it to merge the two parts into one.

Even better, grab mkvtoolnix

and use mkvmerge to append both .avis into one .mkv.
No quality loss, same size , & plays well using dsplayer.

Thanks for your answer but honestly I don't think it is an optimal solution, I will have about 200 films and at least 140 would be merged. I'd rather find a solution on the codec and not on file.

Thanks

But it is not a codec problem, it is that you have one film sitting in two parts.

MKVmerge does the convert/append process in less than 2 minutes per.

Sorry but XBMC Wiki says that the film divided in two or more parts are played as a single file.

See this link:

DVDPlayer also reproduces the split files correctly, but unfortunately under Windows Seven has a very low framerate until it stops.

I do not understand why DSPlayer should not read them. And I think that i'm not the only one to have movi split in two parts.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm using a older version of DSPlayer under XP and it works fine for me, my movies are still in two parts and in Rars

I put this on my todo list, but it clear not our priority. First, we need to have all single files played correctly, which isn't the case yet !

So it was a known bug? I thought I had become an idiot by not being able to run XBMC on Windows Seven.

Ok Thank you all for the answers.

Now the question goes on DVDPlayer, there is someone on this forum that is able to use XBMC on Windows Seven X64?

With the default player "DVDPlayer" all video freezes after few seconds. The log is in the second post.
