Hi,
I have installed XBMC 9.11 from extra repository of ArchLinux. Everything works as expected except there is no sound

I am Using OSSv4, I think the problem is because of that.
The soundcard I have is onboard

Normally sounds works with all application but its seems XBMC or ALSA problem.

I thought I had no audio, but I could hear some very quiet noises.
I did some investigation, and I read that the ALSA driver in Ubuntu 9.10 is very old and needs updating - using a special script instead of the repository.
I just grabbed the latest script from here, followed the installation instructions and a good hour later (yes, the process takes quite a while), after the reboot that is, I had audio.
