[AppleTV] Does the Apple TV run XBMC and Front Row simultaneously?
#1
Question
Sorry about the daft title but couldn't think of another way of putting it! :-) When I am say playing a music album via the standard ATV interface (Frontrow?) and then pause it and decide to watch a movie in XBMC do both processes run together on the ATV? I ask because I have had stuttering and menu lag issues in both apps (usually after nipping in and out of XBMC to show someone how pretty it is, starting a film then exiting!) and found a restart will cure it. Could this be because the ATV is getting it's knickers in a twist and needs to clear out running processes? I have noticed I can run XBMC whilst a album track is still playing in Frontrow - does XBMC just open in a window (I can see a window for a split second as it loads) and does what ever is running before then keep running?

If this is the case anyone know of a quick way to close any windows not required without having to do a long winded restart?

Thanks

Tim.

When you exit XBMC are you using the 'shutdown' command/icon or the exit icon?

Well I have never been too sure which to use (as the ATV is not really a computer so I thought Shutdown probably was inappropriate) but generally I use Exit?

By default, the Launcher plugin starts XBMC "on top" of Frontrow. Leaving XBMC will shut XBMC down, so there's either Frontrow + XBMC or Frontrow alone.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. If you don't have the time to read them, please don't take the time to post in this forum!
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.
