Very slow plugin installer (SVN repo inst)
#1
Hi,
I am trying to install VideoMonkey with the help of SVN Repo installer... at first I believed the whole xbmc is frozen but it is just very slow and alive!.I started the download yesterday and it is now running for 14 hours. The system is more or less idle, it is not running in a timeout and the connection to internet is fine. From time to time it finishs the download of another file... but the few MB recieved in 14 hours cannot be the way it was designed.
What is wrong with my xbmc? Downloading the list of possible plugins was quite fast... only the download itself is extrem slow.

I googled and found only one entry where someone faced a installation time of 1 hour.

Any ideas?

My System is a AMD Sempron under Ubuntu 9.10 with the xbmc-deb's created for karmic, so nothing exotic

I actually have the same configuration and the same problem. I used this manual to setup my xbmc:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...Step_Guide

But its not only a problem with the svn repro install. I also have the same problem with the videomonkey and zdf mediathek plugin. I takes a lot of time, to download just a few kilobytes, but when I look a video stream (2Mbit/s) I have no problem, but it takes sometimes minutes until I can start watching the stream.

Thanks in advanced.

Yeah, I too am having the exact same problem. I though it was my hardware but I went to multiple to install on a few machines with different hardware and they are all having the same situation. I thought XBMCLive was freezing up. This was not the problem. Is there a fix?

I'm also having this problem while accessing the xbmc-addons SVN.
