Hi.

Just a quick question, does anybody here use a
Gainward GeForce 210 512mb (passive)
and if so, does it run VDPAU ?

Just want to be sure before buying.

Hey,
I had the Asus G210 (very noisy) and swapped it for the Passive Gainward G210. Impressed with the quality for the money I paid - £38.
It works fine and is automatically detected under Ubuntu 9.10. For XBMC I have a few issues.

1. Audio not working over HDMI. This appears to of been fixed but I've not had a chance to try the patch yet. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=59877
   
2. De-interlacing using VDPAU not working. Now I know there was a thread on this very subject that was close to offering a solution. Can't seem to find it now. Maybe related to the recent lightning strike issue at the XBMC data centre?
   

Because of the second issue I've not really experimented much with VDPAU and am using software decoding for the time being. I can confirm when I enable VDPAU the load is taken off my CPU. With any luck this means with the next release of XBMC the Gainward should prove the perfect choice
