Quick Apple TV question/help

I've completed all the steps to unlock the USB port on my ATV.

But I still can't figure out how to see the hard drive.

Can someone tell me where to look?

Do I look for the hard drive in ATV? NitoTV? XBMC?

Could it be that the hard drive isn't formated in FAT32.

Thanks

in nitotv or xbmc you can see directly your pluged in usb drive if you have installed smartinstaller by nitotv.
now your drive has to be fat32 (but has 4gb limitations) or HFS+ (best option)

if you're running windows the're several programs where you can read and create hfs+ drives, if you wanna go this way.

ps. appletv discussion looks better in the macos/appltv section Wink

format external to mac osx journaled using ur mac, and instll nitoTV on the atv, and use it to install everything else. most importantly, perian (use apple's h264 codec when it asks), mplayer, smart installer which takes some time to download 10.4.9 combo i believe, and turbo's kext thing.
