Apple TV, xbmc, and tagging for TV shows

Ok, so I've been trying to get the TV show scraper working correctly and here is what I've got for file structure:

/Volumes/Movies/TV Shows/ Various folders for different TV shows....

Ok, so the Movies volume is listed as a movies drive and has movies on it copied straight to it.

The folder TV shows is listed as TV shows and contains the following folder names and an example of the file names:

/Band.Of.Brothers.720p.Bluray.AC3.x264
/Band.of.Brothers.E01.Currahee.720p.BluRay.AC3.x264.mkv

/BBC Life
/Life.S01E01.Challenges of Life.720p.BluRay.mkv

/Planet.Earth.720p.BluRay.AC3.x264
/Planet.Earth.E01.From.Pole.to.Pole.720p.BluRay.AC3.x264.mkv

The folders seem to scrub just fine, but the problem I have is that the episodes do not. I've even tried various variations of each of the shows for name such as:

/Life.S01E01.Challenges Of Life.mkv
/Life.S01E01.mkv

and no matter what I try, the shows do not scrube (the BBC life ones do as written, but the 'extraneous' information still shows up in the name).

How do I get them to scrub? I've already looked at the naming convention and it doesn't seem to work. Do I need to list them just as S01E01.mkv (which is the only one I haven't tried, but the naming convention says show name first is ok) or is there something that I'm missing, like put the movies in a separate folder (I don't think this is the problem because the folders scrub just fine, just not the shows. Matter of fact, the BBC life will pull the show information, but still keep the cryptic name in it's entirity).

What is it that I am missing? Thank you in advance for your help and knowledge.

Two programs that will make your life easier are:
http://www.tvrename.com - this will organize and rename all of your TV Shows in a format that XBMC handles perfectly.

http://www.embermm.com - this will create all the nfo files and posters for all of the TV Shows (V1 with TV Shows has just been released)

I've had the best luck using the following convention for TV Shows:

TVShowName->Season X->1x01 - episodename.xxx, 1x02 - episode name.xxx

For whatever reason this seems to get picked up the best by the scraper (thetvdb.com).

For some shows on DVD where the order is different than the aired order you need to select 'use dvd order' back under 'set content' for that particular folder.

hope this helps.
