When I am looking for subtitles to add to my blu ray copies, how can I be sure to get the correct subtitles? I have gone to allsubs.org and when I do a search for District 9, english, I see a bunch of different files pop up. Some of them look like they are from dvd rips. So does it matter where they came from, blu ray or dvd?
Thanks,
Steve

One more thing. I only want to have the subs displayed when ever some one is not speaking english. I found an .srt for District 9 that was only the aliens, but it did not have any subs for when ever a human wasn't speaking english. So I downloaded a different sub, but now it show's subs the whole times.
So how do I get the subs to only be shown whenever there is a foreign language being spoken?
Thanks,
Steve

You need to look for 'Forced Subtitles'.
In my experience, it's hit and miss. You have to ensure that the movie is the same one. Some have extended editions, etc.. and the timing could be all off.
Sure, you can play with the offsets, etc.. but I have found that when it's fine in one scene, it may not be in another.
