Hi I wonder if someone can give me some advice.

i have just changed the video card in my HTPC from a 512MB ATI 4500 series to a 1Gb NVidia 220.

but for some reason when i go into XBMC i get random flashing lines on screen in both the menus and while playing a movie.

the problem does not happen at the desktop, only in XBMC.

the lines are around 1mm high and 2inches long.

Does it happen in any other program?

Does it happen just during video playback? or while going through menus too?

What OS are you running?

How are you connected to your TV? HDMI? with or without a receiver?

My guess would be either heat or a bad HDMI cable.
