I've searched around and found some information on this set up, but nothing that applies to my specific issue.
I just received my Acer Revo and successfully installed XBMC Live on it. (it was a bit more difficult than I expected, but finally got it to work.)
Here's the hardware:
Acer Aspire Revo
HDMI Projector
Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro
What I want to do is use HDMI for the video signal, and the Turtle Beach for digital audio through my receiver.
The video works fine, but my XBMC is silent. I've disabled the onboard audio, tried iec958 and default as the audio output and have tried setting the passthrough device to both iec958 and custom (with "default") typed in... The video plays fine, but I get the following error when trying to play a video "Failed to Initialize Audio Device, check your audiosettings"
I suppose I could flip over to using the onboard analog audio, but would really appreciate if someone could help me sort this out and get the digital audio working.
