Apple TV is freezing almost all the time when entering the network share. If the share is available sometimes it gets the content of the SMB share but sometimes it simply freezes. But if you accidentally go to the share that is not online it freezes. On 9.11 ver the massage no network available was shown but on the ver.28256 it simply freezes.
I'm also using Broadcom card.

It did happen to me too. What I did was to connect to smb shares using 9.11 and once the user settings were saved for the shares I upgraded so I did not need to go through that anymore

I started using NFS to share files between my appletvs, and my mac. It works very well for me. I'm not sure if you must have SMB shares or if NFS would do.

had this issue with 28256 as well, you can either edit the sources.xml manually or you can type the network share path rather than browsing for it.
