I installed libsdl1.2-esd to get sound working for zsnes. I'm very happy to have audio to go with my nostalgia, but for some reason the nav sounds no longer work when they did before. Another driver was uninstalled when I installed this I believe, so that's probably it.

My .asoundrc is like so:

This may or may not work for you, but installing libsdl1.2-all fixed this for me. Of course our configs are different given that libsdl1.2-esd worked for you.
