Remote worked in XBMCLive...
#1
So I installed XBMC Live to an external HD, to test it out. It worked perfectly, but I want to use it on a more full featured system.

So right now, I have an Acer R1600, with Ubuntu 9.10 installed. Everything is working, overscan fixed, audio via HDMI is fine - everything but the remote.

The remote worked perfectly in XBMCLive, but now does not work in Ubuntu, then running XBMC.

Using the AVS Gear HA-IR01SV, as many probably are. Is there a particular reason it works just fine on XBMCLive, but not on a full system (for lack of a better description)?

Can I just copy some particular directories from my external drive onto my current Ubuntu install?

For further clarification - XBMCLive is installed/working on an external hard drive. Ubuntu is installed on the Revo. Can I copy the lirc files, or some XBMCLive system files from the external to the Revo?

start by installing lirc. Many remotes works fine in xbmc without any tweaking.

lirc is installed, which is why I don't know why it isn't working by default like it did in XBMCLive. Sad
