XBMC Live v. Linux+XMC. Advantages?
#1
I am trying to finalize my first TV-Only XBMC build. This build is not intended to do anything more than XBMC, and I am thinking right now that I am not going to be pushing any Flash or other non XBMC content.

So I ask if I go with XBMC Live, do I miss out on anything? If I did an Ubuntu+XBMC or Element OS do I really gain anything?

If your intent is purely XBMC only content - the only thing you'd lose is the the ability to use a GUI like GNOME to problem solve. With Live you can SFTP and/or SSH into the box and do pretty much anything you need to on it system wise. With Live you may have to add some packages via SSH or terminal depending on what you're trying to do. I found Live to be far better for standalone systems than doing full installs, but plenty would beg to differ.
