Help with manually adding codec info to .nfo
#1
Hi there,

After much searching and learning I now understand the vast majority of what goes in to an .nfo, but there is one thing that is continuing to bug me.

When adding codec info within the <codec> <codec/> tags, I cannot find the correct phrase to add to show a video as MPEG-2. When I put xvid, it shows xvid in XBMC, when I put h264 it shows h.264 in XBMC, but I have tried mpeg2, mpeg-2, mpeg 2, mpeg_2, v_mpeg2, and each time in XBMC it displays nothing in the space where it had previously displayed h.264, xvid etc.

Any help would be much appreciated. Smile

I am glad it's not just me. Have you figured anything out? I am trying to get the same thing accomplished, I just want a MPEG2 icon displayed for those files and I cannot find a list of the video codec tags anywhere.

Its skin specific. The skin decides on what it reads and displays.
