Hey Guys.

I'm looking now in this moment a movie (m2ts) with 2h 30min lengh with 32 GB. The File is on my Debian Server with all Updates. The Server has a Core 2 D 3 Ghz , 8 GB RAM , 6 TB RAID etc... he have much resources...

My XBMC is an ASRock A330 with ION and GBIT Lan.
XBMC 9.11 Live is installed.

I Must often cache the movie so the movie stops all 5 minutes.

Here are some rates :

Read rate over NFS :

(615 MB) copied, 15.6789 s, 39.2 MB/s

Write rate over NFS :

(615 MB) copied, 13.0428 s, 47.1 MB/s

That should be enough or not ?!

hi there ... it should be enough ... i'm playing HD movies over 100Mbit network (it means theoretical speed about 12MB/s, real is about 10MB/s) without problem ...
often caching was happening to me few months ago and problem was in XBMC, not in NAS or network ... version was broken, reinstallation to newer version fixed my problem ...
also this happens to me when i'm watching movie and automatic backup to NAS starts copying big file - network bandwidth is fully used and movie streaming data flow is not safely transfered to XBMC ... so try to find any other network activity ;-)
