Are you talking about GPU video acceleration thats currently supported in quicktime and apple released the API's for the other day?

without any GPU video acceleration what specs would you need

I find my 2 GHz Mac mini can handle about 15Mb/s with some minor stuttering during busy scenes. Anything above that and get's bad and the audio get's out of sync. It's ugly.

I'm still evaluating the posibility of putting ubuntu or Win 7 on my mini as they will both hardware acceleration that will handle pretty much any Bluray rip you throw at them and they have auto framerate switching. It's tweekie to set up, but I'm hoping it will settle down once I work all the bugs out.
