Hi all!!

I have just purchased a WMC remote RC118 (RC6ir) from Mapins!!

Not quite working out of the box

the ir reciever blinks when buttons pressed but nothing happens, but if i keep my finger on the right button it works randomly, does anyone know how to set one of these up...if possible??

Hummp...gona take it back and exchange as its working intermittently and by all accounts it should work

Re remote not working,
I have since tried to get it to work but un-installing lirc and then re-installing. I've also reconfigured lirc could this have an effect to how the remote should work out of the box (if it is a faulty remote?) as im a total Linux newby?

Please note the remote has always worked intermittently for example pressing the right arrow it might work 1 in 10 presses1?

Sound like a faulty unit. I have the same item and works out of the box.

Just exchanged remote and I can confirm it works, must have been a faulty device.
I've spent hours trying to find the reason. !

Btw I'm using xbmc live on Acer aspire revo: )
