Hey guys,
I have a Windows Home Server (basically Server 2003) box running XBMC 9.11 locally. It's essentially a 'watch movies in bed' setup outputting 720p over VGA to a monitor.
The problem I'm having is the display will not sleep when idle (setting in the power saving menu); the display just turns black instead of going to standby (Still very bright at night). I found this can be fixed by using the fullscreen-window option, however this introduces a whole bunch of horizontal tearing and poor video performance.
Does anyone have a solution? Will getting a dedicated GPU fix the tearing in fake fullscreen mode?
Specs are:
E5400, 2GB DDR2, GMA3100 integrated graphics
