[Lucid] One skipped frame every Minute (60 seconds)
#1
Hi,

After my observations in my other thread regarding odd looking frames and with some further watching. It has been revealed that I am getting a skipped frame every 60 second (between 59 and 61 seconds). This does not count as a dropped frame, nor does resampling the audio fix it. I am guessing another process is halting the computer for a fraction of a second each minute.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 with only upgraded alsa, lirc, and xbmc added extra.

I have turned off all the "startup applications"
I have applied the 23.98 / 59.94 fix.

I would like to disable all extra applications on startup, but i dont know how (system manager shows that bluetooth is still running).

And alas!, my googling has failed me as well.

If anyone has had this issue and worked out what caused it. I would be most grateful.

Check the kernel log for any messages that appear around the time of the freeze.

Try to disable the clock panel applet! This solved it for me!

Cron is an usual suspect for this kind of behavior.
If you don't use/need it, remove this service.
