How to create a standalone XBMC session in ubuntu lucid? [question ]
#1
Hi,

I read that if we start a standalone session in ubuntu without gnome, the video playback will suffer less stutter?

Is there a guide here?

Been searching without success..

I am running a standard ubuntu lucid install on nvidia ion hardware.

answered my own question..

sudo apt-get install xbmc-standalone

this will create a separate session option in the login screen for xbmc..

now that the standalone is created...

I'd like to ask how is it possible to have the xbmc session output to my LCD TV instead of outputting to my laptop screen..

ie the normal gnome session to output normal to my laptop screen and the xbmc session to output to my LCD tv..

is there some lines i can add to the XBMC.Desktop session file to maybe use nvidia-settings to load an alternate xorg.conf for outputting the xorg file created by the "perfect 24Hz" script?
