Questions!!

Hi,

I have been one click away from purchasing a revo 3610 for about a week now.
The reason I am yet to buy this is that I am unsure of a few things.

I would be running the revo with:
3-4GB RAM
40GB SSD
external usb HDD for media (1080p)
Windows 7 32bit
XBMC, with aeon stark skin

1. Will the revo (with parts stated above) play 1080p files with a high bitrate
over usb with this setup?

I have an AVATAR rip at 20Mb/s and NEED it to run files like this flawlessly.

I have seen an issue where xbmc adds files twice and on my current pc I have
had this issue which I think happens when you move the files after they have been added to xbmc.

2. Would the above happen if I conect my external drive to another
pc, load the media content and reconnect to the revo on a daily basis?
Would this cause the revo to rescan everything every time i connect?
(as in EVERYTHING (replicating this error) or only the new added content)

3.Will the revo fluidly/flawlessly operate the above skin?

4.Would/is the revo able to run emulators smoothly? up to the fifth
generation of games consoles
(ps1, dreamcast, n64 etc)

If anyone who owns a revo, or just could help me answer these questions soon so I can go ahead and make a purchase.

Thanks in advance to all who help! Nod

I have exactly the same questions you have.

EDIT: If nobody is responding here, my MOM ( Wink ) has a Revo, and I'm going to start some tests. I don't have much time ATM but maybe I can try at the weekend.

I have a 1600 Revo running XBMC live and I ripped The Boondock Saints which I saw go up to 36mb/s. This plays fine over my wired network.

Yes the Revo R3610 play's up to 80 Mbit over my Gigabit LAN with SMB.

For the rest of your question's...... Other machines will have the same behavior.
If you wan't to know if it runs those emulator's find out what there recommended spec are.

itzmar, no need to open up another thread. also, the thread title "QUESTIONS!" is something that we really don't like to see in the forums....
OpenElec Standalone --> Asus Chromebox 'Panther' --> Onkyo TX-NR709 --> Sony 55" X85C Android TV (also with Kodi!)
Asus Chromebox EZ Script
Kodi on Sony Bravia Android TVs
