I was thinking about trying XBMC on top of Karmic like some people have been doing but have some questions.

I have been running Ubuntu on my netbook for a while and noticed that every time I boot it up I have to login. Whether its from a cold boot, hibernate or suspend. I even setup the settings to not ask for login and it still does.

So basically what I'm asking is do you have it setup so you don't have to login at all? I have been in the Ubuntu forums and for some reason they frown on people asking this or wanting to do this which I don't understand why they would care.

thanks

Are they really? I dont think so. There is an autologin feature in gdm and it worked fine last time I tried.

Actually no. I just tried those settings on my nettop and they don't work.

Even in that thread half the people said it doesn't help.

If anyone running Karmic with XBMC could chime in it would be appreciated.
