1080p upscaled video quality
#1
Thanks to Sam and his Linux image, a number of Apple TV users are using 1080p for the first time.

I'm curious to hear what other users are finding in regards to upscaled video quality from SD and 720p content.

I have a 1080p 42" Panasonic plasma, and pretty much all my content is either SD or 720p. I'm not sure the quality difference between 720p and 1080p is worth the extra file size (whereas SD up to 720p is such a drastic improvement for only 2x file size)

Anyway - you can set XBMC at 720p (and let the TV do the upscaling), or set XBMC at 1080p and let XBMC do the upscaling.

Since running XBMC at 1080p in Linux, I'm thinking that my SD content isn't looking so hot (well, even less hot than before if that's possible). I'm not sure if it's just my imagination. I wish I had 2 TV's I could run side by side. What are other users finding?

Let XBMC or TV upscale?

It depends entirely on the quality of your Tv at upscaling compared to the AppleTv
