#1
I would like to try using my wiimote as a remote control for my xbmc, how ever im running into a problem that several around here seem to have had. it keeps connecting and disconnecting every few seconds. now, buy digging around on the forums i am failry certain that the fix is to use wii-use.........and thats where i need the help. i have read everything i can find on getting this to work, but im afraid that i just can't understand it. is there anyone out there that has mastered this and can lay down a few laymans instructions for me?

u may want to try to use blueman manager instead of the default ubuntu one.

use blueman ppa and do a
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blueman
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I had the same error when I did an update... solved it by reinstalling the latest nvidia driver (v195).

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, I didn't know if I'd get flamed more for this or starting a new one when others have had the same problem as me.

Anyway I am haveing the same problem, I have xbmc-standalone ontop of minimal 64 ubuntu. Installed bluez + xbmc-eventclients-wiiremote. ran "xbmc-eventclients-wiiremote" connected my wiimote by pressing 1+2.
It connects, gives me a battery percent. It then starts to connect/disconnect continually. A single arrow press triggers several and after a minute the wiimote no longer does anything in xbmc.

I was wondering if anyone can give me help on the procedure to get my wiimote working in 64bit xbmc on ubuntu 10.10. I understand that wiiuse is going to be my answer, so this is what I know I need to do so far.

------------------
sudo apt-get install build-essential libbluetooth-dev libxtst-dev
------------------

Get/untar/cd into wiiuse folder

http://sourceforge.net/projects/wiiuse/f...use/v0.12/

------------------
make wiiuse
sudo make install
------------------

Get WiiRemoteNew
http://trac.xbmc.org/attachment/ticket/5...ions.patch

This is where I'm confused...
*do I also need the patch?
*do I need to comment out a line?
*where is my XBMC/tools/EventClients/Clients/WiiRemoteNew (I don't think I should use /home/xbmc/.xbmc)

I'm gonna just randomly try every combo till I get a working wiiremote+64bit ubuntu or till someone responds and helps me out. Thanks
