Hello,

I hoping one of the gurus here can help me with this strange problem.

I own two Revos one is a R3600 and another which I recently got is a R3610.

They are both almost identical with only difference being 3610 has a dual core cpu, bit more ram (so I can set 512M to GPU in bios rather than 256M), and a SPDIF output.

I have been using the R3600 for a while now and have quite a few independant OSs running on it including two builds of XBMCbuntu karmic one running a stable build of xbmc and the other svn28256.

The sony tv I use can handle ac3 so i use ac3 pass through over hdmi. Works great with R3600.

Ok so clone my builds onto new R3610 other than few fiddles with the network card should be fine I am thinking.
However now I all I get using hdmi ac3 pass through is a kind of static sound into the tv. Normal hdmi sound works fine just the pass through does not work. This happens both on the stable and svn build I am using.

Currently using asound.conf of
pcm.!default hdmi:NVidia

although I've tried many different ones including the xbmc freak to ouput everything.
