[Fiasco]

I have my HTPC/XBMC feeding two locations. One is an Onkyo 875 5.1 setup and the other is the analog two channel output of the Onkyo to a bedroom amp (and a powered hdmi splitter feeding video to both locations).

I would like to setup a one button toggle on my iPad remote control (via eventghost or the httpapi) to toggle between 5.1 digital and 2.0 analog.

Any thoughts on how to approach this?

So the onkyo doesn't pass digital audio out the analog outs?

If so, seems like getting a better receiver would somewhat simplify the process.

If you want to use XBMC for it, you could use 2 separate profiles perhaps?

It does over powered outputs but unpowered "zone 3" does not pass digital audio
