usually when i load a new track manually or one loads in the playlist, the gui or visualization will hang for a few seconds... this can be quite annoying.

i've searched for this before and found it and applied something that helped fix it, but since then i have had to wipe my system and reinstall...

the music plays over the network from smb share on windows 7 pc... both machines are wired connections and are mounted with fstab locally as such:

//192.168.3.109/320Backup /home/xbmc/320backup cifs guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8,codepage=unicode,unicode 0 0

any help or explanation is appreciated

Debug log?

pulseaudio being its typical retarded self caused a similar problem here. Disabling it helped but still not 100% smooth when crossfading is enabled.

i was under the impression pulseaudio was not installed in xbmc live?
