Hi,
I've recently reinstalled XBMCLive (the version linked in this lifehacker article) on my Acer AspireRevo 1600. I'd previously tried to update to Lucid (the linked version is Jaunty) and I encountered a number of problems with it hanging on boot and whatnot. With Jaunty, however, I also have a number of problems that I recall from when I ran it before, which cleared up when I updated to Karmic before Lucid screwed it all up.
So what I'd like to know is this: Is there a safe way to update to either Karmic or Lucid without screwing up my XBMCLive auto-boot/settings/drivers, etc? Basically, can I swap out the engine without messing up the climate controls?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
