CouchPotato - Automatic Movie Downloader via NZB & Torrents
Lightbulb
Would it be possible to show the couchpotato information in XBMC instead of an internet explorer?

I mean, all the movies í've added to couchpotato showing up in a nice layout in XBMC.

If you mean by accessing CP through 3G, yes you can!

You've to forward your port in your router:

So I've tried couch potato, and the new automoviedownloader.

Can someone explain to me why I would use either of these tools?

I have a fair sized movie collection (500 movies), 720p/1080p mix.

I see that you can add titles to it that you want downloaded eventually, but it still doesn't seem automatic.

I personally like to check out what movies are trending on usenet, and download the top hits (that are supplemented with a personal bluray copy of course).

Will these tools look at my collection, see if I have the title, then download it, as well as download the top movies trending on usenet?
Reply
No, none of these tools will do that. Both programs are there to download stuff you do not already own. No trending functionality available.
It is fully automatic in the set of features it describes:
- Add a movie
- CP downloads the movie for you as soon as it is available

That's it.

Well that's not it really. It has more options, in Couchpotato for example you can put a minimum IMDB note & votes, and every movie that has more than that in the Blu-ray RSS will be added to your queue.

But really think it about a Wishlist of movies that will download automaticly when they are aviable.

can it do all that but not automatically download but just tell you what releases are available to download, then you can manually select it for download?

I recently read somewhere (or perhaps it was a beautiful dream) that you could import your IMDB watchlist in to CouchPotato. I recently updated to R35 and I sadly cannot find this functionality. Does it exist yet and if so where can I find it?

You're right - forgot about that...
I think the IMDB-Watchlist is already there, but not in the windows-build...

Hi everyone,

Cp worked great for ages but the last few days stopped working via the tab up the top and the imdb addon. Also the android app just saves them for later.

Have downloaded the latest v35, and done a brand new fresh install.

FatBoyNotSoSlim Wrote:Has the problem with Apache's mod_proxy been looked at recently? I set a a webserver over the weekend to forward Sabnzbd/Sickbeard/Couchpotato and only Couchpotato failed to work correctly. I'm using the basic method of ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse in Apache. A page loads, but all the css/images are missing.

This is what it looks like for me:

The Wanted/Manage/Soon/Logs links are all incorrectly linking to http://www.example.com/wanted http://www.example.com/manage etc. and not http://www.example.com/couchpotato/wanted etc.

I've read the report here: https://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotato/issues/104 where someone else was also reporting that it fails to work.

From what I can tell, even with basedirectory set, it's looking for files in the wrong directy.

I did just find the following post by sofaking, which I plan to attempt to use tonight if it's a working method?

Did you get this to work? I used to have Couch working but had to reinstall and lost the config. I have the same issue as you.

I have Sickbeard, Sabnzbd, uTorrent, Websites etc ALL working fine but not Couch!!

I have Config ini including

[global]
server.environment = production

port = 5000
username =
password =
launchbrowser = True
updater = True
git = git
urlbase = couch
couchignorewords =

requiredwords =
ignorewords =

And HTTPd.conf

I'm having a problem with a brand new installation of CouchPotato on OSX. Version: git-6970c10

Every time I go into the Config via the gui I get the following message.

Error 500 Internal Server Error
Something unexpected has happened.

I'm able to select the other tabs (Wanted, Manage, Soon, Logs)

The logs doesn't show anything related to the problem

Here's the config.ini file

username =
password =
launchbrowser = True
updater = True
git = git

enabled = False
download =
destination =
foldernaming = <namethe> (<year>)
filenaming = <thename><cd>.<ext>
separator =
cleanup = False
script_enabled = False
file_path =

Doing a search I saw other people with this problem and the solution is always to update to the latest version but with OSX there's only one version to download.

Please help.

I had same issues, i used this guide to get it working:
http://www.mstuttle.com/2011/07/24/virtu...d-sabnzbd/

It works fine for Couchpotato and SABnzbd, but not for Sickbeard. I used the standard httpd.conf for Sickbeard.

CP works weird with urlbase, I found I had to strip the couchpotato uri when runnjing through the reverse proxy or it wont work. It seems that it adds the /couchpotato uri to the url but doesn't recognize it. I'm running windows with rpfree and added the remove CP from uri to my rules, not sure how to make it work with Apache. Try removing urlbase from the .ini and see if it works on your lan, if it does redo the urlbase line and try manually removing /couchpotato, or couch in your .ini, from the url that is generated when you click a tab. If the url works when the uri is modified then you need to figure out how to have Apache do this when it proxys the request.

Sickbeard will rewrite the .ini file if you edit it whild SB is open and I have found that it can rewrite it if you close SB edit the .ini and then restart SB, something to do with cache. The best thing to do is close SB, edit the .ini and then reboot before running SB again.

Been on this forum before, but never this thread. Found this after doing a quick bit of reading about Couch Potato. I've never managed to get sorted with NZB and usenet (too cheap maybe), but have for a long period of time been using torrents. I know some folk hate them, but I have a system and it *generally* works. I get much of my torrent info as RSS, some from private and some from public trackers. I think what Couch Potato can do is outstanding however any chance *pretty please* we could have the option to change the torrent search engine from TBP. Especially as they now no longer host torrents and have moved to MAGNET links. The ability to add custom RSS feeds like you can in uTorrent, but with the powerful abilities and WANTED list of movies of couch potato would be outstanding! Keep up the good work, I know many people are raving about couch potato. For me it's just a little too short. Eek
