hello.

i usually play a movie (over the network or from dvd-r) in 'stacked' mode so that the files will play sequentially. the hd is set to spin down after 5 minutes of inactivity, but when xmbc switches files the hd spins up.

is there any chance of changing this so that the hd stays off?

in fact, if you can get the hd to stay powered down as much as possible that'd be great.. does it need to come up when i'm navigating the network or dvd-r to find another vid?

we have to get the thumbs/database info off the harddisk, so yes, it does need to spin up.

the reason it spins up during stacking is that it very likely switches back to the gui (thus loads the gui skin etc.). this definitely should be eliminated, if possible.
