XBMC uses 100% CPU after idling for ~30 mins

Sad
Running Ubuntu Lucid 64bit with SVN 31330.

If XBMC sits for a short while, it starts to consume 100% of a CPU core. I've been updating/building from SVN for about 2 weeks trying to see if this bug is resolved, so today I figure it isn't a widespread problem and wanted to see if there's something that can be done.

Which video-card and drivers are you using?

It's most likely OpenGL related.

I have a hunch he has a GeForce 9300 and uses the nvidia 256.35 drivers.
Can you turn off display sleep and see if that changes anything.

Nice job, and you're right. I'm going to downgrade the drivers tomorrow.

Is this now a general issue with the latest drivers? I am running them too on Lucid 64. Can't test now, but will tonight. I got a 9400. Or is this a 9300 problem only?

Nothing says it's because of the drivers.

Any news on this issue? I can confirm it on my setup. I left XBMC idling and now it's consuming 100% CPU in "top".
Using 256.35 Nvidia on a 9400GT.
Waking XBMC from display sleep makes CPU go back to 2-3%.

Downgrading nvidia drivers didn't help. Seems to be a bug.
I filed a new ticket:

Fixed in r31398. Just compiled and tested it. CPU usage stays normal when display sleep kicks in.

thanks for the fix bobo1on1 :-)
